I am a parent first.

I have parented children with a wide range of neurodivergence, including ADHD, Autism Level 3, cognitive disorders, mental health challenges, and cerebral palsy. For more than a decade, I have navigated complex medical systems, Medicaid, insurance barriers, long waitlists, and ongoing care coordination. I understand what it takes to balance multi-faceted family needs while advocating for access to appropriate special education services, adaptive equipment, and long-term supports that improve daily life.

I have had to fight insurance companies, identify available resources, and determine what tools and supports can truly make a difference in home and school environments. I have also managed the realities of multi-generational households, marriage, divorce, and solo parenting within a highly complex family structure.

Professionally, I have served as a special education teacher in one of the top school systems for special education services. In that role, I developed and implemented IEPs, led IEP meetings, delivered accommodations and services, and collaborated with teachers across settings to ensure continuity of support. I have seen firsthand how differently students present at school compared to home, and I understand the importance of bridging that gap through communication and partnership between parents and educators.

My work is grounded in both lived and professional experience. I hold a PhD in Higher Education Administration as well as certification in special education. I bring together rigorous research skills, persistence, and a deep commitment to inclusion and disability advocacy.

My goal is simple: to support families navigating complex needs and to help make that journey a little softer, a little more manageable, and a little more supported. I understand the weight families carry because I carry it too.
